Mission Statement
The Mission of the NLRWU is to provide safe, low cost, high quality sanitary sewer service to the Citizens of North Little Rock and other areas as directed. The Utility, through its planning, will also support the orderly growth of the community with the overall objective of preserving the health and well-being of the citizens and the environment.
No person shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, or disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity of the North Little Rock Wastewater Utility.

PERMITS
All connections to the City's sanitary sewer lines must be preceded by purchasing a permit from the Utility. Call (501) 945-7186 and request Permits.

INSPECTIONS
All building sewer installations (repairs, replacements, and/or new construction) shall be inspected and approved by an authorized Wastewater Utility Inspector prior to covering the pipe. Call (501) 945-7186 to schedule inspections. Call Engineering at (501) 945-7186 for specifications.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Why is my sewer bill higher than my water bill?
A. It costs more to clean sewer water than it does to bring fresh water from the City's water supply to your home.
Q. Why am I billed for sewer when there is no water consumption?
A. A minimum fee is charged regardless of water used. (For full information regarding current rates City of North Little Rock Ordinance #9432.)
Q. How do I tie on to a sewer line?
A. A permit must be secured from our Permits Department (501-945-7186) by either a homeowner who lives in the house and is doing the service line work or by a Master Plumber. Once the permit is secured, the homeowner or the Master Plumber contacts our Engineering Dept. (945-7186) to determine the point of connection for the service line, installs the pipe in accordance with our specifications, schedules the line for inspection by Utility personnel, and after receiving approval from the inspector, covers the pipe.
Q. Where can I get a sewer permit?
A. At the Faulkner Lake Treatment Facility Engineering Building located at 7400 Baucum Pike. Use Gate 1 and follow directions on the Call Box to enter the facility.
Q. Where do I call if my sewer line backs up?
A. Call us first, this may save you a plumbing bill if it is Wastewater's line that is stopped up. Call Wastewater at (501) 945-7186, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Q. How do I apply for a job at Wastewater?
A. An applicant must complete a Wastewater employment application. Applications are available online (link below) or at our Human Resources Department located at 7400 Baucum Pike (Old England Hwy 165) Gate #1, Administration Building.
