“This year the City of North Little Rock will celebrate Black History Month by highlighting 12 distinguished African American leaders that have North Little Rock roots and the contributions and impact they have made locally, nationally, and internationally. Help honor them by “liking” and “sharing” their post.”- Dr. Arnessa Bennett, Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion, City of North Little Rock.

  • Phyllis Yvonne Stickney
  • Scipio Africanus Jones
  • Pharoah Sanders
  • Al Bell (Alventis Isbell)
  • Edward Miles, Jr.
  • Alonzo "Lonnie" Clayton
  • Samuel Proctor Massie, Jr.
  • Dr. Mickey Ross
